Loredana’s direct relationship with organic farming began in 2002, when she took over the La Melina farm.
La Melina, so called because her grandfather Alvaro had planted apple trees there, as well as a small Brunello vineyard of 2,000 square meters.
In Montalcino in Tuscany, the female universe has taken on an increasingly central role in the oenological environment.
An example of this is Loredana Tanganelli, together with her husband Antonio Brandi, owner of Scopetone, a family-run organic winery on the southwest side of Montalcino. Initially, the property’s main activity was honey, a product of great tradition and recognition in Montalcino, and also one of Loredana’s great passions.
Beekeeping in Montalcino is a historic and valuable practice,” explains Loredana Tanganelli, “but the grapes were only sold at the time.
A medium-bodied wine with light, woody tannins, very pleasant on the palate and with good persistence.
